Matam Region

Located in northeastern Senegal, the Matam region is a flat, arid territory stretching along the Senegal River and populated primarily by Pulaar-speaking Toucouleur people. As one of Senegal's administrative regions, it encompasses three departments and is characterized by its Sahelian landscape dotted with baobab trees.
