South Georgia and the South Sandwich Islands

Located in the southern Atlantic Ocean, this remote British Overseas Territory consists of the rugged, mountainous island of South Georgia and a chain of smaller, uninhabited islands known as the South Sandwich Islands. The landscape is characterized by steep terrain rising from the sea, with higher elevations permanently covered in ice and snow. Economically, activity is limited and heavily reliant on fishing licenses, which generate approximately 80% of the territory's revenue, alongside minor income from tourism, stamp sales, and customs dues.
