Cusco

The Department of Cusco, also known as Qusqu suyu, is Peru's fourth-largest administrative region and serves as the historic seat of the Inca Empire. Located in the southern Andes, it encompasses the famous archaeological site of Machu Picchu and contains the city of Cusco as its capital.
