Apurímac

Located in southern-central Peru, the department of Apurímac derives its Quechua name meaning "where the gods speak" from the region's towering Andean mountains. With a capital at Abancay and a total area of approximately 20,896 square kilometers, it serves as a significant agricultural hub for fruits, maize, and potatoes.
