Chhattisgarh

Formerly a part of Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh was granted statehood on November 1, 2000, with Raipur as its capital. Known as the "Rice bowl of India," this ninth-largest state in central India is currently led by Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai of the Bharatiya Janata Party.
