Barima-Waini

Located in the northwest of Guyana, Barima-Waini (Region 1) is a vast administrative area covering 20,399 square kilometers and bordering the Atlantic Ocean and Venezuela. With a population of 26,941, the region is divided into three sub-regions: Mabaruma, Matakai, and Moruca.
