Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti

Covering a nominal 4,954 km² in northwestern Georgia, this sparsely populated region serves as the country's most remote administrative unit with a population of 28,500 and Ambrolauri as its capital. While the area integrates the historical provinces of Racha, Lechkhumi, and Kvemo Svaneti, it maintains full Georgian control over 4,600 km² despite the ongoing influence of South Ossetia.
