Imbabura

Located in the Andes of northern Ecuador, the Province of Imbabura is home to the capital city of Ibarra and features prominent volcanic peaks, including the 4,944-meter Cotacachi Volcano and the climbable 4,609-meter Imbabura Volcano. The region is culturally defined by its Spanish-speaking population and a significant number of residents who speak the Imbaburan variety of Quechua.
