Azuay

Established in 1824, Azuay is a highland province in southern Ecuador renowned for its capital, Cuenca, and the 4,500-meter peaks of El Cajas National Park. The region serves as a major transportation hub along the Panamerican Highway and hosts the country's largest hydroelectric plant on the Paute River.
