Region of Southern Denmark

Established in 2007 as part of Denmark's municipal reform, the Region of Southern Denmark encompasses 22 municipalities and serves as the country's third-highest ranked area on the Human Development Index. With a population exceeding 1.2 million, the region is anchored by the university city of Odense and the administrative seat of Vejle, featuring Billund Airport as its primary international gateway.
