Central Denmark Region

Established on 1 January 2007 as part of Denmark's municipal reform, the Central Denmark Region unites 19 municipalities across 13,053 square kilometers with its capital in Viborg and largest city in Aarhus. This administrative area, home to over 1.3 million residents, maintains a robust economy with a GDP of €69.7 billion and ranks second nationally for its very high Human Development Index of 0.948.
