Penrhyn

Located 1,365 kilometers north-north-east of Rarotonga, Penrhyn (also known as Tongareva) stands as the northernmost atoll in the Cook Islands within the Central-Southern Pacific Ocean. Once a densely populated community, the atoll suffered near-total depopulation following a devastating raid by Peruvian slavers in 1864.
