British Virgin Islands

Located in the Leeward Islands of the Lesser Antilles, the British Virgin Islands comprise a tropical archipelago of roughly 60 islands, including the main landmasses of Tortola, Virgin Gorda, Anegada, and Jost Van Dyke. The terrain is predominantly hilly and volcanic, with the exception of the flat, coral-based island of Anegada, and the territory sits between the North Atlantic Ocean and the Caribbean Sea. Its economy is heavily reliant on two primary sectors: tourism and financial services, the latter of which has established the territory as a significant global hub for offshore finance. While the landscape features diverse ecoregions and a population concentrated mainly on Tortola, the territory's economic output is driven by these service industries rather than traditional agriculture or manufacturing.
