Situated in southeastern Botswana near the South African border, Gaborone serves as the nation's capital and political-economic hub, hosting the Botswana Stock Exchange and the headquarters of the Southern African Development Community. This planned city, named after Chief Gaborone of the Tlokwa people, functions as the administrative center for the South-East District and is home to over 246,000 residents.
