Republika Srpska

Established on January 9, 1992, to safeguard the interests of the Serb population, this political entity operates as one of Bosnia and Herzegovina's two constituent parts with Banja Luka serving as its de facto capital. Governed by a parliamentary system and home to over 1.1 million residents, the region is characterized by its predominantly Eastern Orthodox faith and its administrative division into 64 municipalities.
