La Paz

Situated at the western border of Bolivia, the La Paz Department encompasses 133,985 square kilometers and shares Lake Titicaca with Peru. This high-altitude region contains the Cordillera Real mountain range, which reaches elevations of 6.6 kilometers, and includes the steep Yungas slopes that transition into the Amazon River basin.
