Gasa District
Spanning the Middle and High regions of the Tibetan Himalayas in Bhutan's far north, Gasa District is the country's largest yet least populated and least developed administrative division. Dominated by the Dzongkha language with semi-nomadic communities speaking Layakha and Lunanakha, this remote territory covers over 3,100 square kilometers and remains a subject of territorial claims by the People's Republic of China.
