Atakora Department

Atakora, Benin's northwesternmost department, is named for the Atakora Mountains and serves as a gateway to the Tata Somba houses and Pendjari National Park. Following its bifurcation in 1999, the region retains Natitingou as its capital while bordering Togo and Burkina Faso.
