Alibori Department

As Benin's largest and northernmost department, Alibori serves as a strategic border region with Burkina Faso, Niger, and Nigeria, anchored by its capital, Kandi. Created in 1999 from the former Borgou Department, the area is named after the Alibori River and maintains a predominantly rural population of over 867,000.
