Norfolk Island

Located in the Pacific Ocean between New Zealand and New Caledonia, Norfolk Island is an Australian external territory known for its unique history as a penal settlement and its status as the home of the Norfolk Island pine. The island's population, which includes descendants of the Bounty mutineers, currently numbers around 2,188 residents living in the capital of Kingston.
