Cuanza Sul Province

Founded in 1769 by Dom Francisco Inocêncio de Sousa Coutinho as Novo Redondo, Cuanza Sul is a vast Angolan province covering 55,660 square kilometers. With a population of approximately 1.88 million, the region is anchored by its capital, Sumbe, and ranks 18th in Angola's Human Development Index.
