Southern Albania

Southern Albania is a NUTS-2 region comprising five counties—Berat, Fier, Gjirokastër, Korçë, and Vlorë—that serves as the heart of the Tosk cultural and linguistic area. This southwestern territory is rich in petroleum and natural gas, while its population has declined to approximately 761,000 as of the 2023 census.
