Bamyan Province

Located in the mountainous Hindu Kush range of central Afghanistan, Bamyan Province served as a historic Silk Road hub where Greek and Buddhist traditions merged into unique Greco-Buddhist art. Today, it remains the largest province in Afghanistan's Central region, renowned for its dramatic terrain, ancient cave complexes, and the site of the destroyed Buddhas of Bamiyan.
