Badghis Province

Located in northwestern Afghanistan and sharing a border with Turkmenistan, Badghis is one of the country's most underdeveloped provinces with the highest poverty rate. Its capital is Qala e Naw, while the district of Bala Murghab serves as the most populous city and is situated near the ruins of the medieval capital Marw al-Rudh.
